The rosters have been mostly finalized before the regular season. I feel comfortable with my rankings before the first week of the season.
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The defending Super Bowl champions brought back all their starters from the Super Bowl. Tom Brady is another year older but I think he keeps getting stronger. They are the team to beat in the NFC.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs completely revamped their offensive line to help keep Patrick Mahomes upright and avoid another embarrassing game. They still have their core weapons on offense and I think their defense can be a top 10 defense with Chris Jones leading them.
3. Buffalo Bills
The Bills are almost as scary on offense as the Chiefs. They have a young core and their defense shouldn't be an issue.
4. Cleveland Browns
The Browns probably have the best backfield duo out of any team. Baker continues to get better. The only question is, Will OBJ be on the same page?
5. Green Bay Packers
The Packers seem to destroy a lot of teams without having a lot of the big names the other teams have. The Rodgers effect? It helps when you have arguably the best WR on the roster.
6. Baltimore Ravens
You can't argue the talent this team has across the board. If Lamar Keeps getting better passing the ball they will become even scarier. Their passing game is really the only thing holding them back.
7. Los Angeles Rams
This defense is just too scary led by Aaron Donald. They will only get better with Stafford leading the team. If they limit turnovers they will put up points and win a lot of games as their defense won't give up many.
8. Pittsburgh Steelers
I wanted to rate them lower but looking at their roster I just can't even with an aging Ben Rothlisberger. They added Najee Harris who should take some of the pressure away from the passing game. No more passing it a million times a game. That wills save Ben for the playoffs.
9. Tennessee Titans
Derrick Henry. I really don't have to say more. However, Tannehill is quietly getting better and better every year. People don't talk about his production and leadership enough.
10. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks are in a very tough division and seem to keep winning every year. I think they keep asking Russell Wilson to do too much. He is up to the task but sooner or later he is going to start regressing. They need to start capitalizing now especially with the D.K. Metcalf at their disposal.
11. San Francisco 49ers
If they can stay healthy they will have a shot to win their division like almost every year.
12. Los Angeles Chargers
Will Herbert have a Sophomore slump? Will he continue to get better? They have a lot of weapons to compete with most teams. The only drawback is they are in the same division as the Chiefs.
13. Arizona Cardinals
I wasn't a believer in Kyler Murray initially. I just can't ignore the fact that he produces numbers. Let's see what he can bring their year. Will J.J. Watt help lead this defense or be a non-factor?
14. Dallas Cowboys
This is one team I can never put a finger on. They have a great roster especially on offense. They just can't seem to win consistently for one reason or another. Injuries, bad luck, Jerry Jones???
15. Indianapolis Colts
This team has arguably the best offensive line in the game. There are some injury concerns for me though. Their defense is also scary that will keep them in games. I'm just not sold on their QB situation. Their ceiling is around 10 games won this year if they are consistent in that area.
16. Miami Dolphins
Tua keeps developing and they have a lot of young players I really like on their roster. I know Howard doesn't approve of being 16th but that's just how it is right now.
17. Minnesota Vikings
They will only go as far as Cousins takes them. Most likely a playoff spot. I'm not sure they make a deep run at this point.
18. New Orleans Saints
Winston definitely deserved the starting spot. If he can avoid the turnovers then I can see them having a good shot. They do need more weapons though.
19. New England Patriots
I think Mac Jones will be effective as a starter. The Patriots won quite a bit of games last year with inconsistent QB play and a million players opting out. I think they win a few more depending on how the rookie QB adjusts.
20. Washington Football Team
They have a great defense. That's where it ends. Their offense has a few weapons. I don't think Fitz has that much magic left.
21. Denver Broncos
I do think Bridgewater was the right choice to start as he gives them the best chance to win. Don't turn the ball over and let your defense keep you in games. Will they score enough points to keep up with the Chargers and Chiefs? I'm not so sure even with their outside weapons.
22. Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow was having such a good year before his injury. I hope this doesn't set back his play. They are in a tough division and they don't scare anyone.
23. Chicago Bears
Bench Andy Dalton.
24. Carolina Panthers
Hopefully, we see the CMC of old. I think they are better than last year. Time to prove it.
25.Atlanta Falcons
I think they are improved. We will see how their coaches do. I think Kyle Pitts is going to be a beast. Matt Ryan hasn't lost his ability to launch the ball.
26. Las Vegas Raiders
They are in a tough division. They aren't consistent at winning. They have the tools but keep getting in their own way.
27. Jacksonville Jaguars
I think they are a few years away from making any real noise. I do like the direction they are going. Lawrence should get rookie of the year.
28. Philadelphia Eagles
I feel the same way as the team above. They do have the easiest strength of schedule this year. Let's see if they take advantage of it.
29. New York Giants
They are in a division where anything is possible. They could very well win it and be one of the worst teams. Let's see if Barkley makes a come back.
30. New York Jets
They are improved at QB that's for sure. They have had some injuries early on that will effect their defense.
31. Detroit Lions
They are very weak at WR and almost everywhere else. This is going to be a tough year for them.
32. Houston Texans
The worst ran team by far. If...a very big if...Watson plays they will win a few more. It's not looking good. Someone needs to clean house top to bottom and change the culture.
