Week-Two Preview: Baltimore Ravens vs Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes against Lamar Jackson is always a fun game to watch.  The Ravens are coming off an emotional loss against the Las Vegas Raiders Monday Night.  The Chiefs are coming off a win in a  very close game against the Cleveland Browns.  Let's look into who has the advantage.

When the Ravens pass:  This is a wash here.  The Ravens often struggle in passing yards because they are a run first team.  The Ravens are 23rd in passing and the Chiefs are 23rd in passing yards given up.

When the Ravens rush:  The Ravens have a massive advantage here.  They are 2nd in rush yards while the Chiefs are 28th in stopping the run.  A very few teams have limited this Baltimore team in rush yards.

Quick Note:  The Lamar Jackson led Ravens are 0-3 against the Patrick Mahomes led Chiefs.  In 2018 the Ravens lost 24 to 27.  In 2019 they lost 28 to 33.  Last year, they lost 20 to 34.

When the Chiefs pass:  The Chiefs have a massive advantage here.  They are 6th in passing yards while the Ravens are dead last in passing yards allowed.

When the Chiefs rush:  This is a wash here.  The Chiefs are 27th in rushing yards while the Ravens are 27th in rushing yards allowed.

Quick Note:  The Chiefs have 1 player on Injury Reserve.  They had 7 players on the latest Injury Report for the week that were all practicing in full.  The Ravens have 9 players on Injury Reserve.  They had 9 players on the latest Injury Report for the week.  4 were in limited practice, 5 DNP with one being non-injury related.

MY PICK:

The Ravens just do not match-up well against the Chiefs.  Even when mostly fully healthy the Ravens just couldn't beat these Chiefs in the last 3 years.  The Chiefs are at basically full healthy while the Ravens are having bad luck when it comes to injuries this year.  The Ravens are at home which should help a little but after an emotionally draining loss in primetime I just don't see them pulling off this win.

Ravens:  21

Chiefs:  34

Yahoo Pick'em: 91% picked the Chiefs to win this game at the time of writing this.
