On paper this game shouldn't be close. However, as we know games aren't played on paper. Jacksonville will be home starting 0-1 with a loss last week against the Texans. The Broncos will be coming into this game 1-0 winning last week against the Giants. Let's take a look at the advantages.
When the Jaguars pass: I will call this a wash. The Broncos are 14th in the pass and only faced Daniel Jones so far. I'm not sure if Trevor Lawrence is better than Jones yet but the Jags are 7th in passing yards.
When the Jaguars rush: The advantage goes to the Broncos. The Broncos are ranked in 4th in rushing yards allowed while the Jaguars are 23rd in rushing yards.
Quick Note: Trevor Lawrence in his NFL Debut threw for 3 touchdowns but also had 3 interceptions.
When the Broncos pass: I will call this a wash. The Broncos are 17th in passing yards while the Jaguars are 22nd in pass yards allowed. The Broncos have one less weapon as Jeudy will be out for a while. Bridgewater doesn't turn the ball over though.
When the Broncos rush: The Broncos have a massive advantage here. They are 4th in rushing yards while the Jags are 29th in stopping the run.
MY PICK:
This game will come down to the Broncos running the ball effectively and the Jaguars not being able to run the ball effectively.
Broncos: 27
Jaguars: 17
Yahoo Pick'em: 85% picked the Broncos to win at the time of writing this.
